The incessant rains in chennai from the past few weeks have paralyzed many parts of the so called "metro".One such part is, unfortunately, velachery - the place I live. Although water didn't enter our campus, but it became an island with water all around. There was no sign of the road that used to exist and it was nothing less then the picture of Alcatraz as shown in the film "Escape from Alcatraz". There was no way one can go out to except if u have an SUV or a boat.The latter was seen two days after with some people very generously transporting people from "alcatraz" to "civilization".
